Summer Ordeal 2007 Information
August 24th-26th, 2007

With the completion of this years call-outs at Camp T.L. James, the time for Summer Ordeal is quickly approaching.  This event is a time for the mebers of the lodge to gather together to welcome our new brothers to the lodge. Please plan to attend this important weekend.

The weekend is schedules for August 24-26 at Camp T.L. James in Downsville.  Check in will begin at 7:30 that Friday with the Pre-Ordeal ceremony starting after 9:30.  The even will be concluded after the Sunday morning business meeting scheduled for 9:00. The business meeting will be concluded by 10:30.

Your attendance is important to us, please make every effort to be there.  To attend this event, visit the Scout Service Center as soon as possible.  Please be prompt however, a $5 late fee will be charged if registering after August 17, 2006.

Once again, let me congratulate you on your first steps into the OA.  If you have any questions regarding the weekend, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Friday Night

6:00  Arrive
7:00  Ceremony Team Report to Ring
7:30  Spirt Book 2
7:50  Candidates depart to ring
8:00  Pre-ordeal ceremony
8:45  Cracker Barrel

 

Saturday

7:30  Wake Candidates
8:00  Breakfast (Sprit Book 3)
8:45-11:45  Ordeal projects begin
12:00-1:00  Lunch and break
1:00-4:30  Finish work projects
5:00  Ceremony team departs for ring (Sprit Book 4)
5:45  Brotherhood candidates meet on dining hall porch for walk
6:30  Brotherhood ceremony
7:15  Ordeal walk
7:30  Ordeal ceremony
8:30  Banquet (book 5)

 

Sunday

8:00  Wake up
8:30  Breakfast
9:00  Chapel Business meeting following chapel
10:00  Closing and Departure

Lodge Fees
 

Fees for the weekend vary depending upon your status in Comanche Lodge.  The fees are explained below:

Ordeal Candidate ($36)
This goes to cover the cost of meals, sash, handbook, patches, and various things for the weekend

Brotherhood Candidate ($36)
Covers the cost of  various items including the sash, meals, and patches

Regular Attendance ($16)
Covers the cost of the meals and the event patch.

Banquet Attendance ($10)
Covers the cost of the Saturday evening meal.

Dues Payment ($12)
These are the yearly dues paid to the lodge to participate in the events held by the lodge yearly.

Please have the following packed separately in a small backpack prior to arrival:
Blanket & Tarp
Water Bottle
Pocket Knife/Flashlight

Please be dressed in your scout uniform upon arrival on Friday night.

Parents of Candidates
If you have any questions or concerns about what your son, you, or your spouse is about to undergo, directions to the camp, or any other issues, please feel free to contact Rick Polk, Lodge Advisor, at 318-823-2704 or Wes Colvin, Lodge Chief, at 318-245-0618, or ask your local scout office staff.

To attend this event, complete the resitration form and return it along with the appropriate fees to the scout service enter as soon as possible but no later than August 17, 2007 to avouid a late fee.  A $5 late fee will be charged if registering after this date.

Your dues must be paid to attend this event.
